All it takes is a knife, some sandpaper, and a chunk of bark to make a plain object look like an old-world treasure! Choose a wooden kitchen utensil, draw a design, then cut it into the wood using a knife. Smear the design with the powdered tree bark, sand it, and finish with mineral oil. Students may bring their own materials, but the instructor will provide everything needed.
